The Challenge
Navigating the job market is often daunting for young adults with special needs. Despite their potential and eagerness to contribute, they encounter barriers due to various reasons such as:
- Lack of Tailored Training: Conventional training programs might not cater to their specific needs and abilities.
- Limited Job Opportunities: Access to meaningful employment opportunities that accommodate their skills can be scarce.
- Societal Misconceptions: Prejudices and misconceptions about their capabilities hinder their prospects in the job market.
In India, young adults with special needs are currently seen in sheltered workshops. However this is not an employment model as they barely get a small stipend which is not sufficient to meet even their own basic needs. Less than 5% of young adults with disabilities are employed in the open or supported workforce.

There was no eye contact , No speech, He was not following commands, Anxiety Issue, No eyecontact, No name calling, No identification of pictures and objects. Now, He gives proper eye contact, Responds on name calling, Identifies many of objects and most of pictures, fruits, objects. He has started speaking in oneword. My son has poor eye contact, He has lot of Behavior issues,He was very hyper, and would not follow commands. He was 2.5 years. Now my son has improved a lot by the therapy. Before Therapy he was not socializing with kids. He could not easily accept new environment, used to wear particular clothes and shoes . Used to speak in same words . HE had poor writing.
